Thank you for sharing your idea. We love to hear from our customers!
Steps of having to convert columns to text, specifically using the text-to-columns function, is cumbersome. Over the years I have seen many customers get caught up in errors related to not correctly converting the columns to text and the import fails. Often these end up as support tickets or require additional training from our staff.
It would be great to eliminate this requirement all together and allow the files to be imported as is. If that is not feasible, then perhaps we could at least drop a macro into the imports that will automatically convert any required columns to text.
The more ideal solution is to build a smart import sheet, that uses APIs behind the scenes to send the data to CX1 CIMM2 without the need for upload/batch approval. I’ve seen this in other PIMs, it sends errors right back to the sheet which the user can fix and retry that row.
Short term an enhancement to remove the need to format as text or add a macro to do it automatically. Long term some sort of more directly integrated spreadsheet that uses APIs to send each row of data to the PIM and return a status that the user can take immediate action to resolve (that one row) and resend.
