There are many scenarios that are solved with using the Custom Fields option in CIMM2 for an item. Dixieline stores a “alternate sku” that is important to their business and displayed on their site. All Bistrack dealers (important go-forward market for us) also uses Custom Fields to store an alternate store sku.
Although 99% of Item/catalog management is done in CX1, these dealers have to manage this data in CIMM2. If we allowed custom fields in CX1 to be imported/exported and mapped via the sync to CIMM2 it would solve this problem for many Orgill dealers. (Mapping could be custom or done by the user. If mapping is too hard, even storing this data in CX1 would help and it could be easily exported and imported into CIMM2).
I believe something like this is on the roadmap, just wanted it noted who is waiting for this feature.
