Thank you for sharing your idea. We love to hear from our customers!
WebP is an image file format that allows for lossy and lossless compression of images on the web:
Purpose WebP is designed to make images smaller while maintaining high quality, which can help improve website performance.
Features WebP supports animation and alpha transparency, and offers adjustable lossy compression so users can choose between file size and image quality.
Compatibility WebP is supported by most mainstream web browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox. However, some photo and graphic editing programs, like Adobe Photoshop, may not recognize WebP images as valid.
Usage Webmasters can use WebP to create optimized images for their sites and serve them to browsers that support WebP. They can use PageSpeed Insights to determine which pages could benefit from WebP optimizations.
History Google announced WebP in September 2010 and released the first stable version of its supporting library in April 2018.
Comparison to other formats WebP typically achieves 30% more compression than JPEG and JPEG 2000 without loss of image quality.
This could have a very positive effect on Image quality & page speeds.

@Guest - Thank you for sharing the detailed overview of the WebP format.
We’ve added this to our product roadmap and will evaluate it further to assess technical feasibility and integration impact. Based on that, we’ll look to slot it into one of our upcoming releases.
