VOC Rules and Regulations

GT Midwest (non-bond customer) has requested for an enhancement.

  • Ability to mark some of the products that contain VOC and are subject to restrictions

  • Configure shipping restriction by state for such items

  • Allow system to ship those only to specific states where the restrictions are not applicable

  • This may require changes to CIMM2 Admin, Solr as well as ecommerce

This is similar to an enhancement we have done for Braasco (BC-115) a few years ago. Braasco has such shipping restrictions at category level. GT is looking for shipping restriction at item level.

This is also similar to the prop65 requirements we have implemented, but there it just about displaying warning rather than restricting the shipping.

I thought that if this requirement can be implemented at product level, it might be useful for other customers too. If those codes can made compatible to work in non bond platform, it can be implemented for GT as well. Nick has a comment in the case that it is discussed with Adam & a BA will review the case.
